Creations of Lasting Beauty.

At Davsjö, craftsmanship, materials, and form are at the heart of everything we create. We believe in a modern yet timeless expression – furniture and objects that feel both current and enduring.

Each piece is made from the finest materials, carefully designed and crafted to last. With a focus on aesthetic balance, structural strength, comfort, and purposeful function, we aim to create pieces that not only meet everyday needs but enrich the spaces they live in.

Our ambition is simple: to design furniture of lasting beauty – to be loved, used, and passed on for generations.

Craftsmanship, Materials, and Form.

At Davsjö, we believe there’s still so much to discover in a field that can often feel saturated. Every design begins with a question: What problem are we solving? This mindset grounds our creative process and allows us to shape ideas with intention.

By blending traditional craftsmanship with the possibilities of modern manufacturing, and guided by a deep love for materials and form, we create functional, lasting objects with a strong sense of character.

Sustainability is not a separate effort—it’s embedded in every step we take, from first sketch to finished piece. Our aim is to craft design that endures, inspires, and is passed on for generations.

The inception of our dining chairs DS10 & DS11

"By seamlessly incorporating the functionality of a foldable chair into its design, we elevate it beyond mere utility.

This integration not only conceals the foldable feature but also imparts a unique and natural aesthetic to the interior, harmonising effortlessly with the rest of the dining area."

In the heartbeat of our workshop, the concept of the foldable chair was born—a seamless blend of elegance and functionality.

Through careful iterations, the chair’s silhouette was refined, and the foldable mechanism rigorously tested. Every detail—from the fluid forms and choice of materials to the innovative folding system—tells a story of craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

The result? A foldable chair that goes beyond mere utility to become a captivating expression of design, inviting you to unfold the beauty in every moment. Our DS11 foldable chair doesn’t stand alone—it pairs perfectly with our classic dining chair, DS10.

Together, these chairs create a harmonious ensemble, adding not only function but also a graceful visual connection that elevates the dining experience. This pairing marks the beginning of the DS11 and DS10 design journey.

Function embraced in form.

Every design begins with a purpose. True functionality must be seamlessly woven into the form — not added as an afterthought, but as an integral part of the design itself.

Throughout the process, every decision is made with care — from concept and formwork to the smallest detail in development — to create pieces that balance aesthetics and utility in equal measure.

Innovation plays a key role. By exploring new techniques and technologies, we expand what’s possible without compromising on sustainability. Resource efficiency is not just a consideration — it’s a responsibility embedded in every step.

Crafted in Northern Sweden.

Each piece is both designed and meticulously crafted in our factory in Northern Sweden. By keeping design and production under one roof, we ensure a seamless process where modern machinery and traditional craftsmanship work hand in hand.

At every stage, from the selection of raw materials to the final detail, quality and precision are paramount. Our skilled artisans refine each piece with care, guided by a deep respect for both form and function.

The result is not just a product, but a lasting expression of craftsmanship – designed to be lived with, appreciated, and passed on.

Design That Takes Its Time

We work exclusively with high quality solid wood – a living material that grows more beautiful with time – and we let the craftsmanship take the time it deserves.

sustainability

We believe that one of the most sustainable choices we can make is to create objects that last. By combining design, high-quality materials, and deep material knowledge, we strive to make a lasting impact — both in the homes our pieces inhabit and in the world around us.

"To us, sustainability is not a trend, but a responsibility. We design furniture to be loved
and usedfor generations."

Introducing innovation into a well-explored market is a challenge we welcome. We have no interest in replicating what already exists. Instead, we aim to create something new — something that justifies the resources it requires and adds meaningful value.

Each piece is shaped with intention and wrapped in a distinct design language, crafted to feel at home in its environment. Not just for a lifetime, but for generations.

Lasting objects through form.

We believe that the synergy between form, construction, and material knowledge holds the power to reshape how we consume. Through a rigorous design process, we aim to introduce new perspectives into familiar design territories. The pursuit of form — and the challenge of crafting a distinct identity — is a driving force behind everything we create.

A unique expression can make an object worthy of being cherished for generations. When that expression is combined with structural integrity and deep material understanding, the result is design that endures — not only in its aesthetics, but in its purpose. This is our vision of sustainable, responsible creation.

Lasting objects thru form.

We believe strongly that form and construction, combined with material knowledge, can have a major impact on the way we consume. Thru a thorough design process we strive to add something new to an explored design field. Form exploration and finding an identity in our products that has a clear and unique form expression is a challenge that motivates us at Davsjö. By doing so we a convinced that an objects unique expression can be appreciated and cherished for generations. By combining that with a construction and material awareness enables our products to last for generations, both aesteically and duralbilty wise. And that we believe plays an important role in sustainable and responsible design.

Making the most of every piece.

To enable the quality furniture we endeavour not every piece of the wood is suited for the task. To avoid those, so called, waste pieces to become waste we give them new life by creating useful home objects (e.g. our salad cutlery, DS99). That means almost all material we source is used, reducing the waste to a minimum.

Giving new life to quality waste.

Using natural materials is important too us. As a crucial part of our identity we want to be as smart and efficient as possible the materials we use, and respect the planets recources, and that does not only include the materials we use in our manufacturing.

One example is a collaboration with the leather industry. By creating use for parts of the leather sheets that is considered waste (e.g too small), we are able to save that material and give it a new purpose, such as floor protectors for our furniture. This does not only save a big amount of quality material, but also reduced the use of plastic since floor protectors on today´s market is made of plastics like polyester.

Making the most of every piece.

We take great care in selecting the perfect wood for each piece of furniture — ensuring both quality and longevity. But just as important is what we do with the rest. What some might see as waste, we see as opportunity.

By repurposing leftover materials into thoughtful home objects, like our DS99 salad cutlery, we give new life to every part of the wood. This approach allows us to minimize waste and make the most of the natural resources we work with — down to the last offcut.

Giving new life to quality waste.

Using natural materials lies at the heart of our identity. We are committed to smart, efficient use of resources, respecting the planet at every step — and this commitment extends far beyond our manufacturing process.

In collaboration with the local leather industry, we repurpose smaller leather remnants that would otherwise go to waste. These pieces are transformed into durable floor protectors for our furniture — an eco-friendly alternative to the plastic and polyester options commonly found on the market.

By saving quality material and reducing plastic use, we create products that not only protect your floors but also reflect our dedication to responsible design.
